“Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting
on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—but let your adorning be
the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle
and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.”
1 Peter 3:3-4
Welcome to Precious Adornment! My goal for this blog is to encourage Christian women to desire and develop the true and lasting beauty described in the verse above by exalting Jesus Christ as the Greatest Treasure in life.
Each week you can expect to find the following types of posts (along with whatever other random ideas pop into my head)…
- Women of the Word—Bite-sized morsels of teaching on topics like Bible study, theology, Scripture interpretation, etc.
- Beauty Supplements—Biblical encouragement to help women pursue the beauty of Christlike character
- A Minute for Mommy—Quick words of wisdom for mommies on the go
A few personal details… My husband Joseph and I have one precious daughter, Evangelle, whom we brought home from Ethiopia in the spring of 2012, and we are currently in the process of adopting again. (Yay!) You can read Evangelle’s story on my adoption page. The three of us live in North Carolina, where we share our backyard with two slightly insane labradors, Khaki Chino and Chester Charles.
I spend most of my time caring for our family and home, and every once in a while, I find time to make a wee bit of progress toward a master’s degree in biblical counseling which I hope to complete some day soon through the Master’s College in Santa Clarita, CA. I also enjoy baking, cake decorating, reading, and making pitiful but persistent attempts at gardening.
As the Lord teaches me more about Himself, I hope He’ll use me to pass His truth on to others through the information shared on this blog. I pray that what you read here will be a blessing to you. Please enjoy!
